I can’t put my finger on it but for some reason, this record reminds me of a rainy day in Austin, Texas. I can imagine sitting at home on a Saturday after a Friday night bender and just contemplating the events which transpired the night before. This was a ritual of mine when I lived in Austin. I had a plethora of friends and an unlimited amount of events to keep me entertained. I recently moved to Las Vegas and have been doing so much better but there is a huge part of me that misses the chaos that was Austin, Texas for me.
Hayley Williams of Paramore recently started releasing songs under her own name and I gotta say I have been very much impressed with the sound she is serving up. “Why We Ever” is a two-part record with a change-up in the middle of the track that keeps things interesting and fun. I could vibe out to this song all month. I am really excited to see what’s in store for Hayley but for now, I’ll continue listening to this song reminiscing about times past.
