He’s a clean looking dude from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, with an even cleaner sounding voice.
That’s it. That’s all I could really find and tell you about Moise. He keeps it lowkey, but he’s one of our artist spotlights of the week. He released his debut album, ‘Postcards I Forgot To Send’ in August, and to highlight Moise’s talent and potential, we picked two tracks of his (one off the album) that have blown our socks off.
- Wildflower
- The first of which was released in 2017, and actually has an episode on A COLORS SHOW with a modest 318,048 views (as of me writing this). In the session, you’ll see his friend Will Levison on guitar while Moise performs. Levison deserves a ton of credit for his work, as he is a smooth operator creating quite the vibe and environment for Moise, who allegedly made the song in his bedroom on Garageband. Regardless of how it was made, this song is like a modern day Lenny Kravitz anthem. Keep sleeping, world.
- Gold Rush
- The second is our favorite track from his recently released debut album, and almost guaranteed to get you “AhOoooh”-ing along. It’s a dreamy tune eliciting easy daydreams of the beach. The music video is really well done and filmed in Kigali, Rwanda.
Overall, Moise’s first full album is the fun experience you’d expect from a debut, but his stylistic blends and relaxed nature make it as fun as can be. He pairs well with Daniel Caesar, Benny Sings, Blood Orange, Steve Lacy and The Internet. Moise is definitely a rising artist with a sound that so many can enjoy; we can’t wait to see how he evolves.
