There is a small soft spot in my heart for some good old fashion indie vibes, and today Joywave snuck up out of nowhere and plucked at those strings in my heart with their latest release, “After Coffee.”
I don’t know much about the Rochester, New York-based band, but after hearing this easy-going hit, you can bet your butt; I’ll be doing a real deep dive into their musical portfolio to see what else they have to offer.
“After Coffee” will capture your attention right from the jump with a somewhat familiar sound on the beat. I say familiar because the well-produced indie vibes are rhythmic and soothing, much like artists like The Strokes or Silversun Pickups. With that said, the transcendent beat proves to be the perfect foundation for an onslaught of infectious and effortlessly cool vocals that will ring in your head for days. The song is easy-going yet bold and will make a lasting impression on anyone who gives it a listen.
We’ll be sure to be on the lookout for more new music from Joywave in the future, but for now, we’ll be vibin’ to “After Coffee” for the rest of the week!
